2016 BMW X5 xDrive40e is a plug-in hybrid version of the popular SUV that will appear on the market. The outer appearance is different from the standard model in a few minor changes like filling hole on the front bumper, 19- or 20-inch wheels and other styling elements. The interior is very spacious and comfortable; the main differences are as on the dashboard with the available information on the status of the battery and the reduced cargo space for batteries. The drive system is hybridized with an electric motor that reduces emissions and fuel consumption. The driver access to three driving modes, namely: EDrive strives for the most efficient use of drive, Max EDrive to drive in electric mode and save battery keeps charging and increases battery life. Expect are strong sales on the North American market.

2016 BMW X5 xDrive40e – Hybrid driving modes

2016 BMW X5 xDrive40e combines a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor. This hybrid system delivers 241 horsepower + 111 horse powers which makes a total output of 309 horsepower. Autonomy in pure electric mode drives is 19 miles and the maximum speed of 75 mph. The system is connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission that transmits power to all four wheels. Acceleration from 0 to 62 mph is achieved in 6.8 seconds, while top speed limited on 130 mph. EPA fuel economy rating is rated with 85.6 mpg. In addition to the hybrid driving modes mentioned above, there are standard modes: Comfort, Sport, Eco and EcoPro. 2016 BMW X5 xDrive40e brings modifications on the center console. In addition to conventional looks are installed Eco functions required while driving.
